Keyon Menifield, an incoming Arkansas transfer out of Washington, will take a non-scholarship redshirt season in 2023-24, according to a report from HawgSports’ Curtis Wilkerson.
Menifield is one of 6 incoming transfers Eric Musselman brought in to alleviate the losses of Anthony Black, Nick Smith, Ricky Council and Jordan Walsh. Of those 6 transfers, all except Chandler Lawson played in the backcourt. And even Lawson spent some time playing the 1 or 2 at Memphis.
Menifield was incredible as a freshman in the Pac-12 last season, averaging 10.0 points, 3.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.

Arkansas has plenty of places to turn without Menifield, but this could pave a way to more playing time for 4-star freshman PG Layden Blocker with El Ellis, Khalif Battle, Tramon Mark and Devo Davis.
Menifield will reportedly stay on the roster and practice with the team with the hope of playing next season retaining 3 years of eligibility.
