It’s been a rough year for former Arkansas coaches

On Sunday, Louisville fired coach Bobby Petrino, ending his second stint with the school after a 2-8 start to the season. However, Petrino is hardly the only ex-Arkansas coach struggling this year.

Over at Division II Kentucky State, John L. Smith just finished off an abysmal 0-10 season, including two shutout losses in his last three games.

Meanwhile, Bret Bielema — now an assistant for the New England Patriots — watched as his team was thumped 34-10 at Tennessee on Sunday (though the Pats are still a very good team). Even his former DC, Robb Smith, was recently let go at Minnesota.

In Fayetteville, things aren’t going much better, as new head coach Chad Morris is also 2-8 (like Petrino), with a chance to finish his first year with a 2-10 record.

At least Morris will get another year to turn things around. The same can’t be said for Petrino (and we’ll see about John L. Smith).
