It appears the depth of the Arkansas quarterback room is taking a slight hit as one of the team’s signal-callers has made the decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Not only that, but the quarterback that has entered the transfer database is a legacy of the Arkansas program.

Freshman walk-on quarterback Jacob Switzer, the grandson of Barry Switzer, has entered the portal. News of Switzer’s decision to enter the portal was first reported by Trey Biddy of 247Sports.

While Barry Switzer is most known for his coaching run at Oklahoma before making the jump to the NFL to coach the Dallas Cowboys, the Natural State native played at Arkansas and his first major coaching job came in Fayetteville.

Jacob Switzer arrived in Arkansas after playing for Prestonwood Christian High School in Plano, Texas.
