Jaheim Singletary, former Georgia DB, reportedly signs with new SEC program
Jaheim Singletary was a 5-star cornerback in Georgia’s elite 2022 recruiting class. He appeared in 3 games for Georgia in 2022, but didn’t record any stats.
After the Bulldogs won the national title, though, Singletary decided to explore his transfer options ahead of the 2023 season.
It seems he won’t be leaving the SEC. On Tuesday, Arkansas coach Sam Pittman announced that Singletary had signed his SEC agreement to join the Razorbacks:

In the 2022 recruiting class, Singletary was a 5-star prospect and the No. 5 overall cornerback, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
Now the Florida native is heading to the SEC West to join a secondary that desperately needs some help.
What this means for Arkansas
The Razorbacks finished with the worst pass defense of all 131 FBS teams in 2022, giving up 294.7 passing yards per game to opponents.
At this point, the Hogs need all the help in the secondary they can get. Adding Singletary to that mix will be interesting. If he has solid showings in spring practices and in fall camp, he could have a big role in 2023.
Good decision on Singletary’s part
Go Hogs
Any insight on why he left UGA? Playing time? I’m a little concerned about a guy who left so quickly or who possibly is afraid to compete. That being said, the kid has talent, which we desperately need in the secondary.
as you know, it’s rare these days that a 5* only gets in 3 games and ultimately ends up with no stats.
playing time. in seeing what ark’s pass defense was last season, playing time shouldn’t be an issue going forward
There’s competition then there’s extreme competition at places like UGA, Bama, Ohio St. etc
Just look at guys like Justin Fields, Otis Reese, Alvin Kamara and Joe Burrow who had to transfer so they could get playing time.
No bad news or reports on Singletary during time in Athens; it’s just Kirby and his staff are recruiting and stacking defensive blue chips like cord wood.
Great pickup, expect more of similar caliber through the portal, his new hires are outstanding recruiters.
