Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson could pile on the school records this season.

Jefferson ranks in the top 7 for 7 different offensive categories in Razorbacks football history as he enters his senior season. He could break records in passing attempts, completions, passing yards, touchdown passes, total plays, total yards, and TD responsibility.

It will take at least 358 passing attempts by Jefferson to break Clint Stoerner’s record of 1,023. Jefferson threw 300 passes last year and 294 passes in 2021.

For completions, Jefferson will need 158 to break Tyler Wilson’s record of 593. That’s well within Jefferson’s range from the past two seasons where he completed 198 or more passes each year.

Jefferson could also catch Wilson for the Razorbacks’ career passing record of 7,765 yards. The third-year starter needs just 1,962 yards to break Wilson’s mark.

Likewise, Jefferson can catch Brandon Allen for the Arkansas career TD pass mark of 64. Jefferson already has 48 TD passes, and he threw 21 or better TD passes in each of his two seasons as the starter.

Stoerner’s record of total plays, 1,200, also sits well within Jefferson’s reach. Jefferson completed 1,020 plays through his first four seasons with the Razorbacks.

He also won’t need much to become the all-time leader in total yards. Jefferson ranks 5th with 7,245 career yards, and he needs just 1,148 yards to pass Matt Jones’ career mark of 8,392 yards.

Similarly for TD responsibility, Jefferson could eclipse Jones easily with 11 TDs this season. Jones has 77 career TDs and Jefferson has 67 at 4th all time.
