Mark May thinks No. 7 LSU won’t be able to withstand a motivated Arkansas team on Saturday. The analyst favors the Razorbacks to pull off the upset at home against the Tigers.

His co-host Lou Holtz is giving the edge to LSU, but May explained why he’s going with Arkansas.

“This is one of those games where Arkansas is playing at home. LSU is coming off a big high and Arkansas they’re kind of embarrassed losing to Liberty last week, coach,” May said. “… Raheim Sanders the running back has over 1,100 yards rushing. I think they’re going to try to play keep away in this game. I think Arkansas is going to go for the upset. I’ve got Arkansas upsetting LSU. It’s going to be a low-scoring game like it was last year but Arkansas wins this game 19-17.”

5-4 Arkansas lost 21-19 against visiting Liberty last weekend. Arkansas rallied from down 21-0 to within 2 late in the fourth quarter but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Meanwhile, 2-loss LSU is coming off a 32-31 overtime victory against Alabama. This was LSU’s first victory vs. Alabama at Tiger Stadium dating back to 2010. In the victory, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels went 22-for-32 for 182 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

If LSU defeats Arkansas and Alabama defeats Ole Miss, LSU captures SEC West. LSU-Arkansas is slated for a 12 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on ESPN.
