In preparation for Saturday’s showdown between Arkansas and Georgia, Saturday Down South is taking a look at the key matchups that may decide the game between the Razorbacks and the Bulldogs.

Arkansas offensive line vs. Georgia front seven

When you look at the Arkansas offensive line, it closely resembles the Bret Bielema’s Wisconsin teams of old. The Hogs average 6-feet-6 inches, 328-pounds up front and have dominated the line of scrimmage through its first six games.

After dominating Alabama up front last week, the Razorbacks now face a Georgia front seven that is near the top in the country. The Bulldogs dominated Missouri last weekend, flushing Maty Mauk out of the pocket all afternoon and forcing five turnovers.

The ‘Dawgs front seven, led by Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins, has registered 15 sacks and 41 tackles for loss. Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt rotates frequently along the defensive front, keeping fresh legs for his blitz schemes. Georgia has yet to face an offensive with this much girth that can create running lanes for the duo of Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins.

The line of scrimmage will be key to the game on Saturday afternoon. Alex Collins will play after sitting out the first half of last week’s contest. If the Hogs can control the trenches and run the ball with some success, the SEC West could maintain its perfect record against non-SEC West opponents.
