Media, fans react to Arkansas' suffocating defense, 7 turnovers of Ole Miss, Matt Corral
Before this week, Ole Miss had one turnover in three games. But then the Arkansas defense arrived, and ruin the Rebels’ afternoon, especially QB Matt Corral.
Corral had six interceptions, and the Arkansas also picked up a fumble, as Arkansas rolled to its first SEC victory at home since 2016. Arkansas had two turnovers of its own, but did enough on offense to pull away.
Here is a sampling of how fans and media reacted to the game:
Was Sam Pittman the best offseason coaching hire in the SEC? We are BULLISH on Arkansas

Grant Morgan makes the biggest play of his LIFE! Pick six that could seal UA’s 1st SEC home win since 2016. #WPS 🐗🏈👏 pic.twitter.com/dMEMynVbdg

Grant Morgan of the Arkansas Razorbacks has 19 tackles and a pick 6 against Ole Miss today. Holy shit.

We’ve talked about this on the @YahooSports College Podcast a bunch. DC Barry Odom has been a ninja. Just a remarkable story. https://t.co/8Qce6H5AXb

HUDSON CLARK AGAIN. That is six interceptions for the Hogs. Unreal.

Arkansas’ Grant Morgan with one of the better performances of the year in the SEC. https://t.co/KyxDIrteBx

The crazy thing is the Ole Miss defense — which has allowed at least 41 in every game this season — has given up only 19 points and the Rebels are still going to lose.
5 INTs are a helluva drug.

Crazy to think it had been nearly three years since Arkansas had won an SEC game entering the season. Now the Hogs are about to win two conference games in three weeks, and it would have been three in a row if not for a very questionable call vs. Auburn.

I was very skeptical of Arkansas hiring Sam Pittman but he should easily be the early frontrunner for SEC Coach of the Year. Remarkable turnaround for the Razorbacks.

Matt Corral has thrown SIX interceptions today. Forcing bad throws into a zone — at every level.
Smart D by the Hogs. There’s something to be said for dropping 7 and daring a gambling QB to make smart reads and beat you consistently.
Someone we know needs to get that memo.
