The Razorbacks’ head coach has compiled a 29-31 record at Arkansas and is just 11-26 against SEC competition.
It’s no surprise that Bielema’s seat is getting hotter, and angst among the fan base is growing. The Hogs have looked absolutely putrid this season en route to a 4-5 overall record.
Here is Bielema’s record against the SEC West:
- vs. Alabama: 0-5
- vs. Auburn: 1-4
- vs. LSU: 1-3
- vs. Mississippi State: 1-3
- vs. Ole Miss: 4-1
- vs. Texas A&M: 0-5
Not so good.
One national college football writer, Ralph Russo of the Associated Press, said on Wednesday that he thinks Bielema’s time will soon come to an end.
Russo isn’t the only one in college football community who thinks so.
He joined Fayetteville’s Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly:
Russo: “I think we’re heading toward the end of Bret Bielema at Arkansas.”

Russo also offered these statements:
Russo: Bielema has a track record. If he wants to coach, he will find a job.

Russo: I’m not seeing a lot of reasons why Arkansas would be able to keep the LSU game close.
