Reggie Chaney, who played college basketball at Arkansas and then at Houston, passed away on Monday at the age of 23. Sports Illustrated’s Pat Forde reported the news.

Chaney played for Arkansas from 2018-2019, before transferring to Houston after his second season with the Razorbacks. He played on the 2021 Houston team that advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament that year.

Chaney played forward in 63 games for the Razorbacks and 104 for the Cougars, seeing plenty of action on the floor while at both programs.

Chaney ended his college career at Houston this past season. The Cougars made it to the Sweet Sixteen before losing to Miami in 2022.

His smile was talked about as being big and friendly by those who knew him. His coach at Houston, Kelvin Sampson, was very fond of Chaney and had plenty of nice things to say.

There are no details as to how Chaney died at this moment.
