Arkansas will need a new defensive backs coach.

A source told FootballScoop.com’s Zach Barnett that Arkansas’ Clay Jennings will be joining Texas in the same capacity.

Jennings will be returning to familiar territory as he’s spent a significant amount of time in the Big 12. Before coaching the Razorbacks defensive backs the last two seasons, he coached TCU’s cornerbacks for the previous six seasons and did the same at Baylor the year before that.

Jennings made a big impact in his first season in Fayetteville as Arkansas finished 9th in the FBS in scoring defense (19.2 points per game) and 10th in total defense (323.4 yards per game).

However, Arkansas dipped significantly in those two areas last season, finishing 68th in scoring defense (27.4) and 58th (391.6) in total defense. The Longhorns were even worse in both areas.
