Report: Arkansas DC Robb Smith expected to leave for ACC team
Arkansas could be looking for a new defensive coordinator according to a report.
Multiple sources told Football Scoop that Razorbacks DC Robb Smith is expected to leave for the same position at Wake Forest. Smith joined Arkansas in 2014 after working with Greg Schiano at Tampa Bay in 2013 and at Rutgers from 2009-12.
Arkansas ended its season on a low point, squandering a 24-point lead in the Belk Bowl to fall to Virginia Tech 35-24. The Hogs also ended the regular season with an upset loss to Missouri (4-8) 28-24.
Head coach Bret Bielema has shown interest in changing the defensive scheme from 4-3 to 3-4, possibly leading Smith to look elsewhere.
I would imagine he was encouraged to look elsewhere. Historically awful defense; it was probably in the best interest of both parties to look elsewhere.
This is the best thing to happen to Arkansas Football in a long time! Now I just hope we make smart decisions on our next hire. Good luck with that Wake Forest.
CBB had to do something , someone had to fall on the sword other than him, as usual.
Jeff Long botched Arkansas football by giving BB a ridiculous buyout. There is much more to the program being off track than just the defense. The easiest fix on this team , find someone to kick the ball into the end zone, and for over two years now CBB has failed to do this, and I see this as an easy fix, several high school kids do it every friday night in the fall. Thing that make you go huh ??
