By Adam Spencer
Published:
New Arkansas head coach Chad Morris signed his offer letter shortly after accepting the job in December, but now his official contract has reportedly been signed.
According to WholeHogSports.com, Morris finalized the contract with the school this week, which will pay him $3.5 million per season.
The report also detailed some of the bonuses Morris is in line to receive, including $1 million worth of competition-based bonuses:
The principal terms of the 34-page contract are unchanged from the offer letter Morris signed in December. His annual salary will be $3.5 million from university and private funds, and his contract runs through Dec. 31, 2023.
Morris will be eligible for up to $1 million in competition-based bonuses and $200,000 in academic-based bonuses each year, and is eligible for three retention payments of $500,000 apiece, contingent that no “significant” NCAA violations have occurred and the program is not on NCAA probation at the time the payments are due in February of 2019, 2021 and 2023.
The report, which can be found here, also details the terms of Morris’s buyout. They’re also detailed in this tweet from Bo Mattingly:
