Running back woes: Chad Morris confirms one Arkansas RB no longer with team, one to miss spring

Rakeem Boyd led the Arkansas Razorbacks with 734 rushing yards and two touchdowns last year after originally signing with Texas A&M and then spending a year at Independence Community College.
Heading into 2019, big things are expected from Boyd, but his offseason plans just took a bit of a hit.
According to head coach Chad Morris, Boyd will not be able to practice this spring, though a reason wasn’t given. Additionally, Morris said rising senior RB TJ Hammonds is no longer with the team:
Morris: Rakeem Boyd will not be a part of spring practice. TJ Hammonds is not on the team.

Hammonds only appeared in four games in 2018, recording 10 carries for 28 yards and adding four catches for 84 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.
This news hurts the Hogs’ running-back depth this spring, but as of now, it seems Boyd will be back for the summer practice session. We’ll see what Morris says in the coming weeks.
