Sam Pittman admits 'I didn't know what to do' on late field goal decision vs. Mississippi State
Sam Pittman offered some candid comments after Arkansas 7-3 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday. A second-half decision to punt instead of try a field goal was a key call in the game.
“To be honest, I didn’t know what to do, and I didn’t make the decision fast enough,” Pittman said. “I didn’t want to burn the timeout because I wasn’t sure I was making the right decision.”
Overall, Arkansas struggled to move the ball throughout the game, and KJ Jefferson couldn’t find the deep ball hardly at all. The offensive line struggled again, and Pittman admitted that it’s been a season-long problem.
Pittman was asked about making an in-season staff change, and said he didn’t want to answer that question.
