Sam Pittman discusses challenges Arkansas will face against Mississippi State defense

Arkansas mounted a come-from-behind effort against Alabama, but a 28-0 hole against the undefeated Crimson Tide ultimately proved too steep to climb out of.
Now, Sam Pittman and his team turn their attention to Mississippi State. After a loss to LSU, the Bulldogs have picked up wins against Bowling Green and, more recently, Texas A&M. One thing that sticks out to Pittman is the defensive alignments Mississippi State presents, led by coordinator Zach Arnett.
“They’re going to cause you problems on offense if you’re not ready for all this movement and all the blitzing that they do,” Pittman said on Monday. “I like their linebackers a lot, and they use them really well. They have made a difference in a lot of games just on special teams. They’re hot right now.”
Arkansas has won the past 2 meetings between the 2 teams. In fact, Pittman’s first win with the Razorbacks came against the Bulldogs in 2020, a 21-14 victory. In 2021, the Razorbacks won 31-28.
After a 3-0 start, Arkansas is now 3-2, but will look to get back into the win column on Saturday.
