Sam Pittman gives injury update on Taylen Green, prognosis for LSU game
Sam Pittman provided a status update on injured Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Taylen Green this week ahead of the team’s matchup against LSU, giving a little reason for optimism.
But there is also still some uncertainty surrounding Green’s return from a lower-body injury he suffered against the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers after taking a big hit from Vols defender Omarr Norman-Lott early in the fourth quarter of Arkansas’ 19-14 victory.
“We’re hoping he’ll be ready for LSU,” Pittman said Wednesday on The Chuck & Bo Show. “We’re also hoping that he’ll be ready by next week to practice. Those are still up in the air just a little bit. But we feel confident that we can have him back. It’s just that we’re not positive that will happen.”

Pittman also spoke to the importance of having his starter back in the fold, even though Malachi Singleton did a fine job taking the reins.
“But we certainly need him. Malachi (Singleton) did a wonderful job, but, you know, Taylen (Green’s) our number one quarterback for a reason and Malachi (Singleton) certainly earned his respect that he got leading that last drive down there to score. That was big time and so we’ve got two good quarterbacks.”
Who takes the snaps when Arkansas faces No. 13 LSU will be something to keep an eye on Kickoff between the two teams is set for 6 p.m. CT in Fayetteville on Oct. 19.
