Arkansas has a chance to get back one of its best pass rushers this week at Texas A&M in DE Dorian Gerald, who has been out since the season opener against Georgia.

Coach Sam Pittman updated reporters on Thursday afternoon, and said Gerald has returned to practice, but no final decision has been made on his availability for the weekend.

“Dorian looked a little bit better yesterday,” Pittman said, via Hawg Beat. “I don’t know. We’re going to take him on the trip, and then we’ll find out how he is after practice today. We’ll find out how he is in pregame and see if he can go or not. I think that’s the only one.”

LB Bumper Pool is another player who has dealt with an injury this season, but outside of those two, Pittman said the practices this week were designed to prepare for A&M.

“We kind of amped it up to be honest with you,” Pittman said. “We know we’re going to be in a physical game. We went good on good several times this week for the physicality of what we know we’re going to get Saturday night. Last week was kind of our week to heal up. We have been smart, obviously, with Dorian and Bumper as far as that part of it goes. But the rest of the team, we banged heads pretty good this week.”

Starting CB Montaric Brown was cleared to play this weekend even though he practiced non-contact the week of Ole Miss, but wasn’t cleared.

“I don’t look at it too much that he’s been out too long … he’ll be ready to go,” Pittman said.

Texas A&M is listed as a 12.5-point favorite in the game at Kyle Field.
