Sam Pittman made clear on Monday at his weekly press conference that Arkansas won’t suffer 2 losses because of what happened at Georgia on Saturday.

“I’ll be damned if Georgia’s is going to make us lose this Ole Miss game,” Pittman said.

About the Georgia game, Pittman added that he hopes his team will learn from the Georgia game about getting ready for an early kickoff on the road. He said the team could use a different mindset.

“I think everybody saw we just weren’t ready for the grand stage yet,” Pittman said, and added that several players mentioned the crowd at Georgia was the loudest they have experienced.

About some of the mistakes in the Georgia game, Pittman said the blocked punt against Georgia was different than the one against Rice, which he said was a mental error. He said the Georgia game had 2 mistakes — the right guard on the shield did not block the rusher correctly, and the punter was outside the area where he should have stood.

Going forward, Pittman said Arkansas will “do something a little bit different this week” on its punt protection.
