T.J. Hammonds should be healthy for Arkansas season opener
The Razorbacks received some good news Wednesday as one of their offensive weapons appears to have made a speedy recovery in time for the season opener.
T.J. Hammonds has been sidelined since early training camp with a knee injury, but it looks like he will be healthy for the season opener against Florida A&M, according to Bret Bielema.
Jimmy Carter of Whole Hog Sports shared the report.
“T.J. Hammonds was running around looking great yesterday,” Bielema said during his appearance at the Northwest Arkansas Touchdown Club. “I think he’ll be full-go by the end of the week.”
He had 88 rushing yards and a TD as a freshman, but it appears Arkansas has envisioned a versatile role for Hammonds this season, potentially lining him up as a receiver more often than running back. The Razorbacks would certainly like to keep him healthy as they navigate their SEC schedule.
