Arkansas added a big piece to its offense this year when the Razorbacks landed top JUCO WR Brandon Martin from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The No. 1 JUCO receiver in the class of 2017, Martin enrolled at Arkansas in January and went through spring practices with the team.

As he prepares for his first SEC season, Martin told WholeHogSports.com that he believes he’ll be an impact player for the Razorbacks this fall:

“I feel like I’m going to do well in the offense and in the SEC because I like competition,” Martin said. “Coach Enos is doing a good job of putting us in great situations, and Coach Smith is doing a great job teaching us.”

Martin said it’s tough learning a new offense so quickly, but he and fellow Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College transfer WR Jonathan Nance are doing their best to make sure they’re ready to play every down this fall:

“The biggest adjustment is getting to know the new offense and getting it down fast because they’re expecting a lot out of me and Jonathan,” Martin said. “So we have to get in the playbook.”

Without Keon Hatcher and Drew Morgan this season, QB Austin Allen will need some reliable new targets to throw to. If Martin and Nance can be those top options, the Razorbacks could again have a high-powered passing attack.
