Video: Arkansas DB ejected for targeting after cheap shot late hit
As we’ve seen throughout the world of college football, the targeting rule has become a significant entity.
Tonight’s big SEC West clash between Arkansas and Texas A&M is a perfect example. During the run of play, an errant Trevor Knight pass intended for WR Speedy Noil was broken up near the sidelines.
Made the right call against #Arkansas ..but dang! How many targeting calls have we had today? #ARKvsTAMU #TAMUvsARK #AggiesAllTheWay #tamu pic.twitter.com/1xJkWn1imA

As they play completely concluded, Arkansas defender De’Andre Coley ran by very late and smashed Noil right on the side of the helmet. It resulted in a targeting penalty — and thus an ejection for the defensive back.
With the intensity between these two teams already ramping up, it remains to be seen what this hit may do for the collective psyche of both teams.
Right call….bad play took away from a great play by Pulley bad bad play really had them pinned deep
The personal foul call was a good call but that was not targeting. If that is targeting the football players might as well start wearing a cheerleader skirt and let’s give them pom-poms while we’re at it.
Targeting…no. late hit…yes.
LOL, why you trying to hide your identity Jason as you call a cheap shot on a non targeting call ? Scared of the heat you gonna pick up on the street ? Man up ! I doubt you could carry Austin Allen’s water. Woo Pig !
Targeting…thin argument but he definitely could have let up on the hit. These are still kids playing. They don’t always think about what they do.
That hit was just stupid anyway it goes. We don’t have enough margin for error to make mistakes like that period!
