The Arkansas Razorbacks already fired AD Jeff Long last week, and many think coach Bret Bielema could be next following the Hogs’ game against Mizzou on Friday.

However, without a new AD in place, it will be interesting to see how that situation plays out, as it is unclear who is making the decision in Fayetteville these days.

On Monday, coach Bret Bielema made his case for why he should return in 2018, saying he has faith in what he and his coaching staff have built over the years:

“I have so much faith in what we’ve built and what could be here,” he said. “There’s already going to be so much transition in our league, which I think is a positive to stay constant. I know we want more wins, I want more wins, but the wins will come.

“I think a lot about teams that were in this same situation a year ago — one of my closest friends in the Big Ten conference was Mark Dantonio, what they’ve done now with their program, what Mississippi State has done, what Notre Dame did — all those teams that had a dip-down year.

“Now, I didn’t have the prior success, I get it, but what we took over and what we’ve built and what’s coming back — it’s a very exciting time.”

Arkansas hosts a red-hot Mizzou team on Friday afternoon, but even a win might not be enough to save Bielema’s job at this point.
