Arkansas came just short of an upset over Alabama Saturday, losing to the Tide 24-21.

While the Razorbacks were looking for a signature win, playing a tight game against a top team is a positive sign for a team that has struggled in recent weeks.

Sam Pittman is saying positive after the loss, anticipating a late-season run to close out the year.

“I felt like if we keep getting better each week, then we can make a run at the end of the season,” Pittman said in his postgame press conference. “It’ll be great to get back in front of our fans.”

The game ultimately came down to a few key plays that Alabama made and Arkansas didn’t. Pittman is hoping the game can spark some confidence heading into the rest of the season.

“It was just two teams fighting their butt off out there today, and they made one more play than we did,” Pittman said. “I saw some sparks even with the 250 yards. We saw some sparks that give us hope for the rest of the season.”

Pittman wants his team to treat every game as a learning experience, and the game against Alabama is no exception.

Pittman also believes his team is still capable of becoming bowl eligible, but he knows he has a long road ahead of him.
