Andy Burcham, voice of the Tigers, shares the turning point in Auburn's season
Andy Burcham has seen Auburn kick into gear late in the season, and build enough momentum to reach Omaha and the College World Series.
So when did the voice of the Auburn Tigers see the baseball team having a chance to make it to the pinnacle of college baseball?
“I’ll be honest with you, it was not until Auburn won those 2 road series at Texas A&M and at LSU, and that’s an A&M team that of course is here for the College World Series,” Burcham said from Omaha on WJOX’s “Mac and Cubelic In the morning.” “And an LSU team that has more history in Omaha than anybody else in the SEC. … I started thinking, this team can go on the road, play in front of a hostile atmosphere, and was putting things together from a starting pitching perspective. That’s when I knew it would have an opportunity to do something in the postseason. I can’t tell you at that point that this was an Omaha team, I probably didn’t start thinking about Omaha until the regional.”
Auburn will open against Ole Miss at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday in a game broadcast on ESPN2.

The lack of coverage on SDS for this team is shocking. I’ve seen more coverage for a team that lost in the SR than for a team that actually made the CWS. Good luck
Glad to know I’m not crazy. I get on here regularly thinking, “surely an Auburn baseball article will have made it on SDS.” The lack of coverage for this team on SDS is ridiculous. Prior to today, they’ve been nothing more than a footnote at the end of SEC baseball write-ups throughout the postseason.
