Auburn 4-star 2017 signee Markaviest Bryant, a weak-side defensive end, was injured on Tuesday in a freak accident that left his right hand cut up and bloodied and required a trip to the hospital.
Bryant’s high school coach said the accident occurred after some innocent horseplay went wrong, according to 247Sports:
“He was horsing around a little bit,” Crisp County (Ga.) coach Shelton Felton said. “He slipped and tried to catch himself on the door. He’s so big, his arm went through the window. I guess it was just a regular window.”
However, Felton said he doesn’t think Bryant’s injury is so serious that it will affect his ability to play football this fall:
“He should be okay by the time he gets to Auburn and they start football,” Felton said.
Felton posted some graphic pictures (which can be seen here) to Snapchat, along with the caption “I’m good,” so it seems he’s in good spirits as he begins his recovery.
