It has been a busy day on The Plains. Bryan Harsin remains Auburn football’s head coach, a decision addressed in multiple statements from AU President Jay Gogue. Harsin issued his own statement on Friday, as well. Friday evening, Auburn athletic director Allen Greene made his first public comments on the Harsin situation.

“I’m confident that the Auburn Family will rally behind the tremendous young men in the Auburn football program, Coach Harsin and his dedicated staff who are collectively working towards a bright future,” Greene wrote in a tweet.

Greene’s comments echoed a similar sentiment expressed by Gogue.

“It is my hope and expectation that the entire Auburn Family will join us in uniting behind Coach Harsin. With that support, I have no doubt that Auburn football’s best days are ahead,” Gogue said in a portion of his second statement.

While there are plenty of questions surrounding Harsin’s long-term standing and his ability to recruit after the recent 2022 uncertainty, it’s clear that Auburn leadership expects the Tiger football family to rally around the coach.
