Auburn announces special theme for home opener vs. Tulane
Auburn will welcome its fans to the first home game of the season with a “white out” against Tulane.
A week after the Tigers had a memorable winning finish in Arlington, Texas, against Oregon as QB Bo Nix threw a last-second touchdown to secure the victory.
This is the first meeting between the Tigers and the Green Wave since 2006, but before that, the previous meeting came in 1955. Auburn surprisingly is 14-17-6 in this series. Fans are encouraged to wear white to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
“When you look at them from top to bottom, they’re a veteran team,” coach Gus Malzahn said this week, according to the Montgomery Advertiser. “A veteran team special teams, offense, defense. They’ve won six out of their last seven games, and you can tell they’re extremely well coached. It’s really one of the better teams, non-Power 5, that we’ve played since I’ve been the head coach.”
On the SEC media teleconference, Malzahn also noted that Tulane has “veterans everywhere.”
The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
