Auburn defensive lineman Zykeivous Walker has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal, according to a report from Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.

Over the course of the seasons with the Tigers, Walker totaled 20 combined tackles, one pass deflection and one sack. Retaining a veteran like this is a positive for new head coach Hugh Freeze as Auburn continues through its state of transition.

Walker is the fourth-highest rated recruit on Auburn’s roster and was the No. 79 overall prospect in the 2020 class. Ahead of last season, he sustained a knee injury and underwent a minor procedure. He also was absent due to personal reasons, causing him to not appear in a game until Week 5.

“He has had a few things — personal things, not in a bad way — but he had to handle some stuff,” former head coach Bryan Harsin said the week of the Georgia game. “That has kind of impacted some of the playing time, as well. He’s back this week. He is fine, just some family things.
