Is Auburn elite away from Jordan-Hare? Gary Danielson isn’t so sure

Heading into Saturday’s SEC Championship Game, it’s fair to wonder what would have happened if Auburn had to play Georgia and Alabama on the road instead of at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The Tigers took care of business against the two No. 1 teams at home, but Saturday’s rematch against the Bulldogs will be at a neutral site in Atlanta.
Both of Auburn’s two losses — Clemson and LSU — came on the road, so it’s fair to question the Tigers’ ability to win away from Jordan-Hare. During a conference call on Wednesday, CBS broadcaster Gary Danielson said he’s not so sure the Tigers can handle tough road games (via 247Sports):
“Auburn has proved they’re elite at home,” Danielson said Wednesday. “I don’t know if they’ve proved to me they’re elite away from Jordan-Hare (Stadium).”
Auburn’s two road losses came earlier this season, so we’ll get a chance to see on Saturday if the Tigers recent hot streak carries over to a neutral site or not.
If it does, more neutral site games await, as the Tigers will be going to the College Football Playoff.
