Auburn fans react to epic collapse in loss against Mississippi State
Auburn held a 28-3 lead on Mississippi State midway through the second quarter of Saturday’s game.
It seemed the rout was on. Well, it turns out, the rout was on, but not the way fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium would have liked.
Instead, it was the Bulldogs who kicked it into high gear, storming back and scoring 40 unanswered points (yes, that’s right, 40 unanswered points) to take the lead. The final ended up being 43-34 in favor of the Bulldogs.
As you can see below, there was plenty of reaction from Auburn fans and national media to the Tigers blowing the 28-3 lead, including some references to the Atlanta Falcons’ collapse in the Super Bowl a few years ago:

That second half of the Auburn game was ATROCIOUS and quite possibly the worst performance I’ve ever seen and I was at every game in 2012. Abysmal.

What a weird, inconsistent as hell, Auburn season. They’re now a Bama loss away from finishing 7-5 where most of us thought they’d be before it all began anyway.

Auburn making sure to be unranked when they beat Alabama. Smart.

Worst coaching performance I’ve ever seen from an Auburn coaching staff. 40 unanswered points.

What a disaster for Auburn. Such a terrible performance they can't even blame the egregiously corrupt SEC officiating.

The head coach of Auburn shouldn’t be allowed to coach football again. Not even on a video game.

We’ll see if the Tigers can bounce back in their final 2 games, 1 of which is the Iron Bowl against rival Alabama.
