Auburn fired defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson on Sunday, a day after the Tigers gave up a record number of points in the Iron Bowl, a 55-44 loss to Alabama, reports AuburnUndercover.com.

Auburn’s defense gave up an average of 39 points per in its final six SEC games of the season, the worst mark in school history. The Tigers allowed 6.7 yards per play in its final six conference games.
