Auburn opened spring practice Tuesday hoping to leave the past in the past.
Obviously, the biggest question for the Tigers is who will start at quarterback. AL.com’s Brandon Marcello says several think neither Jeremy Johnson or Sean White will be the starter, as the coaching staff already knows what both can, and more importantly, can’t do.

But during spring practice all the quarterbacks will get their chance to prove they can lead the offense, Malzahn said earlier today.
“They’ll have equal reps,” Malzahn told the media. “We’ll give them all a chance to compete.”
All eyes are on JUCO transfer John Franklin III, who played for East Mississippi Community College. Franklin is 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, and he certainly sees an opportunity to make an immediate impact in 2016. He’ll get his chance to prove to Gus Malzahn and Rhett Lashlee he can lead the offense this spring. Franklin will remind fans of former Tigers’ quarterback Nick Marshall, who really executed Malzahn’s offense very well, despite not being a natural quarterback.

Auburn veteran defensive lineman Montravious Adams gives fans hope about rising sophomore defensive lineman Byron Cowart during offseason workouts when he spoke to the media Tuesday. The uber-talented Cowart is looking to have a big sophomore season after having a rather quiet freshman season.
