Auburn has flipped Phenix City (Ala.) Central wide receiver Cameron Coleman from his Texas A&M commitment.

The 6-foot-3 wideout is a 5-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite, and he’d been committed to the Aggies since July. Coleman took several unofficial visits to Auburn during the fall, and announced on Friday he was flipping his commitment to the Tigers.

It’s a huge win for Auburn. Coleman is viewed as one of the very best recruits in the 2024 cycle. The Composite has him ranked as the No. 3 receiver in the class and the No. 7 overall prospect.

As a senior this fall, Coleman has posted 56 receptions for 1,229 yards and 17 touchdowns with Central. His team is 12-0 so far this season and, in two games against Auburn High — a regular-season matchup in October and a playoff matchup in November — Coleman brought in 18 catches for 501 yards and five touchdowns.

In the October meeting, he had eight catches for 293 yards and four scores in a 41-20 victory. With plus size and explosion, Coleman is a big play waiting to happen.

He also adds to what is looking like a phenomenal 2024 class for coach Hugh Freeze. The top two known pledges are 5-star receivers; Auburn has a pledge from Foley (Ala.) High’s Pretty Thompson from back in July.

The class had 19 known commits in total and currently ranks No. 11 in the country.
