Auburn has plenty of talented quarterbacks on its roster — Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham, returning starter Sean White and redshirt freshman Woody Barrett among the biggest names.

However, this spring, freshman Malik Willis is making a name for himself and drawing some impressive comparisons along the way.

Though he likely won’t win the starting job this fall, Willis reminds starting OL Austin Golson of a former Tiger quarterback, according to AL.com:

“He’s a stud, there’s no doubt about it,” starting center Austin Golson said. “He’s going to be really good. He kind of reminds me a lot of Nick (Marshall). He can run and make plays whenever plays might not be there. I’m really excited about his future.”

Considering Marshall led the Tigers to a victory over Mizzou in the 2013 SEC Championship Game, that’s high praise from Golson. Marshall was a dual-threat quarterback who had a lot of success during his time at Auburn.

If Willis makes a similar impact in the coming years, he’ll be loved by more than just Golson by the time his Auburn career is over.
