Auburn lands commitment from 4-star LB out of Florida, former Miami pledge
Auburn has landed a big-time commitment.
Elijah Melendez is one of the top linebackers in the state of Florida. Melendez had been committed to Miami, but backed off that pledge on Aug. 31. The blue-chip prospect has now decided that home is on The Plains.
Melendez announced Saturday via social media that he has flipped his commitment to Auburn.

Out of Kissimmee (Florida) Osceola High School, Melendez is listed as measuring 6-2 and 225 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Melendez is rated 4-stars, the No. 17 linebacker, No. 23 player in the Sunshine State and No. 147 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
Melendez drew coast-to-cast interest in his recruitment. He has scholarship offers from 38 programs, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC.
Melendez verbally pledged to Miami on Dec. 16, 2023. Before the end of August, he decided to reopen his recruitment.
