The Auburn Tigers faced a difficult schedule in 2018, taking on Washington in Week 1 and then having to make their way through an always tough SEC schedule.

However, ahead of the Senior Bowl this weekend, Auburn LB Deshaun Davis said one player stood out above the rest as the best athlete the Tiger defense lined up against.

During a press conference on Monday, he said Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa gets the honor of being the top player to face Auburn in 2018:

Considering Tagovailoa threw for 324 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions against the Tigers, and added a sixth score as a runner, it’s no surprise Davis feels that way.

Davis played fairly well in that game, too, recording five tackles (1.5 for a loss) and half a sack. This weekend, he’ll try to show a similar level of athleticism in front of NFL scouts to improve his draft stock.
