Auburn offensive line coach J.B. Grimes has been connected to the same position with Tommy Tubberville’s Cincinnati program throughout the weekend with various reports that he would indeed be leaving Alabama for Ohio.

What is clear after Sunday though is that Grimes is still at Auburn, but that a decision about his future is coming soon.

AL.com reports Grimes did indeed interview with Cincinnati for the offensive line coach job, but he has not been offered the job yet. The report says Grimes met with Tubberville in San Antonio for several hours. Again, though, the job has not been formally offered to Grimes.

Cincinnati recently hired Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Zac Taylor, and he is expected to have final say on the hire. Grimes is still expected to take the position with Cincinnati if it is offered to him, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.

For now, Grimes remains at Auburn until further notice.
