Auburn provides update on freshman Justin Powell’s status ahead of Kentucky game

Sharife Cooper has been sensational in his 2 games with the Auburn Tigers, but he can potentially be even better.
That’s because Cooper has yet to play alongside another star freshman in Justin Powell, who was handling the point guard duties while Cooper was dealing with an NCAA eligibility battle.
Powell has missed a couple of games with a head injury, and that will continue on Saturday against Kentucky, per an Auburn spokesperson:
Auburn guard Justin Powell will not play today vs. Kentucky, per team spokesman.

That’s a big loss for the Tigers, as Powell has quickly emerged as one of the better shooters in the SEC. He is averaging 11.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
Will he be able to return to the court soon? It’ll be interesting to see how he fares alongside Cooper and his dynamic passing.
