Auburn QB commit Bo Nix earns Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year honors
Though Auburn’s quarterback situation has become quite murky this week, the Tigers still have a pretty good signal-caller set to join their roster in 2019.
Auburn commit Bo Nix was named Alabama’s Gatorade High School Football Player of the Year, according to Hudl.

Nix is a high-4-star prospect per 247Sports.com’s composite ratings, which also peg him as the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in his class and the the 47th overall 2019 prospect. His presence will be a huge boost for Tigers coach Gus Malzahn, who just this week saw starting quarterback Jarrett Stidham declare for the NFL draft and star transfer prospect Kelly Bryant opt to join Missouri.
Nix broke the state’s all-time yardage record last week while leading Pinson Valley High School to the Alabama Class 6A state championship game, according to The Auburn Plainsman. In his senior season, Nix has completed 59 percent of his passes for 3,496 yards, 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions.
