Auburn RB Brian Battie out of hospital months after being critically injured in shooting
Auburn running back Brian Battie has been in a Sarasota, Fla. hospital since May after suffering critical injuries in a shooting that took the life of his brother.
There’s promising news, though: Battie has been released and is back home to continue his recovery. His mother shared the news on social media.
“Words can’t express the joy and thankfulness we feel right now,” Adrienne Battie said, according to 247Sports.com. “We have witnessed a miracle, and we know it’s because of God’s grace, mercy, and the power of prayer. We have spent every day praying for God’s healing and we claimed it knowing Brian would walk out of the hospital and today he DID!”
Battie was shot in the head on May 18 in a shopping center parking lot in his hometown of Sarasota. His brother Tommie Battie IV was pronounced dead at the scene.
A GoFundMe page was set up to help Battie’s family offset the cost of his recovery and to update the public on his progress. The current total stands at over $115,000.

It’d be great to see him in AU again. Would love to see him come out on the field and lead the band.
This is great news.
