Auburn running back Brian Battie has decided where he will play in 2024.
The RB entered the transfer portal last week but decided to withdraw from the portal on Tuesday, according to reports.
Battie originally spent 3 seasons with the South Florida Bulls. The back broke out in 2022, finishing with 1,185 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. Battie also caught 14 passes for 91 yards in 2022. After that impressive season, Battie signed on with the Auburn Tigers.
In 2023, Battie rushed 51 times for 227 yards and 1 TD, while splitting carries with Jarquez Hunter and Damari Alston. The Tigers finished the season with the No. 24 rushing offense in the nation.
Battie is also a return specialist and returned 28 kicks for 645 yards in 2023. In 2021, while with South Florida, Battie returned 3 kicks back for scores. Keeping the versatile Battie in the fold will be huge for Hugh Freeze in his 2nd year with the Tigers. The team brought in receivers Sam Jackson V, Robert Lewis, and tight end Rico Walker to further bolster the offense.
