Auburn has been among the most highly talked about teams when it comes to quarterbacks in the transfer portal as the program prepares to move forward in a state of transition. Much looks different as far as the coaching staff goes with the introduction of head coach Hugh Freeze after the firing of Bryan Harsin and the roster turnover that has come with the changes.
The latest quarterback the Tigers have been linked to is former Oklahoma State signal-caller Spencer Sanders, according to a report from 247Sports. He’s just one of many, and Auburn has not been shy about its pursuit.
“Yes, we are (going to seek a transfer QB),” Freeze said Wednesday to reporters during his signing day press conference. “If it’s the right one, that we believe we can win games with.”
Sanders has shown some upside and looks to be a quarterback who could contend in SEC competition. He finished the 2022 season with a 57.6% completion rate, throwing for 2,642 yards with 17 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
