The third College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night.

Auburn played with fire one too many times on Saturday afternoon and got burned. Two fumbles late sealed the upset on the Plains for Texas A&M, who finds itself in the College Football Playoff Top 25 for the first time at No. 24.

The Tigers fell six spots to No. 9, the highest-ranked two loss team, just ahead of Ole Miss.

Auburn, mathematically, is not eliminated from the top four playoff sports or from contention in the SEC West. Auburn travels to Athens this week to face No. 15 Georgia and finishes the season with No. 5 Alabama.
