Auburn takes the lead vs. Oklahoma with 48-yard TD pass to Malcolm Simmons
Auburn has its first lead of the day vs. Oklahoma.
After falling behind 7-0 early on, the Tigers have responded with a couple of touchdown drives to take the lead over the Sooners. The latest score was a flashy one — a 48-yard touchdown pass from Payton Thorne to Malcolm Simmons.

Simmons is one of several talented freshman receivers on this team. This is already the second touchdown of his young career.
Thorne has been good so far vs. the Sooners in his first game back in the starting lineup. Thorne began the year as Auburn’s starter, but the Tigers went with Hank Brown in their last 2 games against New Mexico and Arkansas.
That was Thorne’s second long touchdown pass of the quarter. He tied the game in the second quarter with a 31-yard touchdown pass as well.
Auburn entered this game leading the SEC in passing plays of 40+ yards with 9. The Tigers have already surpassed their total from all of last season in that category (7).
Auburn is looking for its first-ever win over Oklahoma. This is the third all-time meeting between these programs, but the Sooners won the first 2. Most recently, Oklahoma won the 2017 Sugar Bowl against the Tigers.
Auburn took a 14-7 lead into the half.
Just how many ways can this team find to lose a ballgame. I mean good lord!!!! Blame Freeze most of you. Players have to make plays and not make bad plays. No stupid penalties and make a field goal inside the 20 and it is a different story.
