With some important dates coming up in the SEC world, including walkthroughs starting on Aug. 7, the Auburn Tigers have made some roster updates.

A couple of the main takeaways from the Tigers’ updated online roster include a receiver moving to the secondary and Howard transfer QB Caylin Newton, the younger brother of Auburn legend Cam Newton, being listed at a new position.

Newton will wear No. 23 and is listed as a wide receiver. Meanwhile, Matthew Hill is moving from receiver to defensive back:

Newton was the 2018 MEAC offensive MVP as a quarterback, throwing for 2,629 yards and rushing for 504 yards. He combined for a total of 26 touchdowns that year.

Hill had 8 catches for 46 yards in 2019, including 2 grabs against Alabama in the Iron Bowl.
