Bo Nix and the Auburn Tigers jumped out to a huge 28-3 lead midway through the second quarter of Saturday’s game against Mississippi State at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
That’s when disaster struck, as the Bulldogs rattled off 40 unanswered points and ended up winning the game 43-34.
In his postgame press conference, Nix made a comment that raised some eyebrows. As you can see below, he seemed to call out the fans for a lack of energy after the Tigers took a big lead:
Auburn quarterback Bo Nix talking to the media now.
Nix: "I'm not quite sure what happened there. Felt like the entire stadium, the life, just mellowed out. The life of the stadium just relaxed there for a minute, and it was hard to get momentum back"

“I’m not quite sure what happened there,” Nix said. “Felt like the entire stadium, the life, just mellowed out. The life of the stadium just relaxed there for a minute, and it was hard to get momentum back.”
Nix isn’t going to make many fans happy with that comment.
For context, here’s the full quote from Nix:
