Bo Nix took an opportunity on Monday morning to explain his reaction to being benched on Saturday against Georgia State.

Nix was replaced by LSU transfer TJ Finley, who led the Tigers on a game-winning drive to beat the Panthers.

“Obviously, I was extremely frustrated when they took me out of the game,” Nix said on The Next Round. “Like any competitor would be. I felt like I was healthy enough to go back in. I felt like I was good to go, but coach just decided that he wanted to do something else. At the time of the game, we had not punched the ball in in the red zone to score enough points to be ahead. We had a bunch of missed opportunities to do that, which was frustrating. But I felt like I did the best I could and unfortunately it wasn’t my decision at the end, but like I said, I’m just a competitive guy. No matter if anything’s hurt, my body doesn’t feel the best, if I’m walking around, I’d love to be in the game.”

Nix said his status of the starter will depend on this week’s practices, and the coaching staff hasn’t told him anything, so he doesn’t think anything has changed.

“If it does, that’s their decision,” Nix said.
