Auburn big man Austin Wiley recently missed five games with a lower leg injury, and has only been back in the rotation for the past two contests.
However, the anchor of the defense has only managed to play a grand total of eight minutes in those two games as he works his way back into game shape.
As the Tigers prepare for a game against Ole Miss on Wednesday night, coach Bruce Pearl said Wiley should be in for his biggest performance yet:
Austin Wiley “went as long and as hard” in practice yesterday as he has since his leg injury. Bruce Pearl curious to see how he responds today. “My anticipation is he’s going to play a little more every time out.”

“There is a chance this year that we could see the best he’s got, but we haven’t right now,” Pearl says of Wiley

Wiley is averaging 9.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. As the Tigers battle to remain in the NCAA Tournament picture, Wiley’s presence defensively will be even more important.
The Tigers host the Rebels on Wednesday night in a game that will go a long way in the SEC standings. We’ll see how long Wiley is able to stay on the court.
