Bryan Harsin appears to be staying at Auburn, according to a report from Cole Cubelic of the SEC Network and WJOX, a former Auburn offensive lineman.

“I believe that Bryan Harsin will be retained as the Auburn head football coach. Alignment will be critical moving forward. Adjustments from all sides will be necessary,” Cubelic reported on Twitter.

Harsin hasn’t made any public statements in the last week since an interview with ESPN when he said that he’s “not planning on going anywhere.” Auburn released a statement on Monday saying university officials are “judiciously collecting information” from sources, including student-athletes.

On Thursday, Harsin attended SEC head coaches meetings in Birmingham, so his status with the school is unknown. Reporters staked out the building waiting for Harsin to arrive, and after he went in through a side door, he came outside a few hours later, and left without a comment to reporters.

The university is looking into the football program, which has lost 18 players and 5 assistant coaches since the end of Harsin’s first season, and the Auburn administration is looking into what caused the wave of departures. The defections came after the Tigers lost their final 5 games and finished with a 6-7 record.

After his first season at Auburn, Harsin in recent weeks saw newly hired offensive coordinator Austin Davis announce that he was resigning for personal reasons after he replaced a fired Mike Bobo. In January, defensive coordinator Derek Mason left for Oklahoma State.
